TaalStudio’s forum “Language and Technology: A Successful combination”

The workshop is part of the Translation Europe-project of the European Commission, and was about different topics such as automatic translation/interpretation and various applications of language technology. In his session, our scientific project leader Dimitar Shterionov (Tilburg University) talked about the SignOn project, differences and similarities between sign and spoken languages, and technical challenges related to machine translation. After his lecture there was a brainstorming session with students about what would be a good way to represent sign language in a written-like form.
